RESPECT ME is a design show by Grouphug about female empowerment. Open May 12-13. Features 30 creations by a collective of global designers.Work ranges from market-ready products to futuristic concepts.
Women are historically disrespected. As a result they’re paid less, underrepresented in almost every industry, subject to harassment, & not guaranteed reproductive rights. Why are they systematically undervalued? We challenged designers to pick an issue they’re passionate about & address it.
There will be demos at the opening night party, which will include a panel discussion, #InclusivityFails beginning at 6:30pm on May 11th.
Come so you can:
– beta test a new sexual harassment reporting app concept
– try on defensive clothing that triggers when personal space is invaded
– learn about a new concept for a stigma-free Birth Control Pill
– get inspired by a service that helps women pop the question before men
+ many more product concepts
