A photo essay of the Ace Hotel in the Flatiron District of NYC

The Ace Hotel, in many ways, has set standards for boutique hotels that are affordable, funky and are more than just a place to stay, but rather a real destination. The scene-y lobby is just as often packed to the gills with freelancers working away as with creatives having a cocktail.

We're suckers for great coffee and fittingly, excellent roasters, Stumptown, opened their first NYC location here. There are also two restaurants on site - the John Dory & The Breslin - to satisfy your seafood or hearty cravings.

Accommodations are reasonable by NYC-standards, rooms are varied and interesting, and the staff is wonderfully production-savvy.
